About Tangit
Tangit is Henkel's brand for pipework and plumbing installation. With us it stands above all for two tasks that otherwise cause trouble every time: the subsequent sealing of house, cable and pipe penetrations with the 2K expansion resin M3000 and the bonding of ABS pipes in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. In addition there are the swelling sealing hose for pressing water and the tools that belong with the two-component cartridges – static mixer, push-out plunger and all-metal gun.
The house entry is the place where water comes in
A core drill hole for water, electricity or fibre optic leaves an annular gap around the pipe. It is precisely there that water runs into the basement – not through the wall, but through the gap. Mortar helps only to a limited extent there: it shrinks, tears away from the pipe and does not move with it. A 2K expansion resin works differently. It is introduced as a liquid, foams up in the gap and fills it right into the undercut.
In practice that means: the gap is cleaned, formed off at the bottom or stuffed with a cord, and the resin is introduced from above. The 150 ml cartridge is enough for a normal house entry, the 300 ml cartridge for larger openings. The static mixer is important: without it both components come out unmixed and do not cure.
Selection guide: which Tangit product for which task?
The overview arranges the Tangit range we stock by task. The details in the last column come from the product data of the respective article.

Pressing or non-pressing water – the difference is set out in DIN 18533
Before a penetration is sealed, the question has to be clarified which water is present at all. The standard for the waterproofing of components in contact with the ground distinguishes by water exposure classes: ground moisture and non-pressing seepage water on the one hand, pressing water on the other. For the second group a waterproofing that merely keeps moisture away is no longer enough.
What tradespeople use Tangit for
- Sealing house entries for water, electricity and fibre optic
- Filling core drill holes and wall openings
- Closing cable and pipe penetrations in the basement
- Getting well penetrations permanently tight
- Reworking against pressing water also from the inside
- Bonding ABS pipes in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems
- Joining pressure pipelines to EN 14814
- Processing 2K cartridges cleanly and completely
- Getting remainders out of opened cartridges

Good to know
- Tangit belongs to Henkel. The Düsseldorf group, by its own account, celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2026; its adhesive brands also include Pattex, Ponal and Teroson.
- The coaxial cartridge needs no special device. Both components sit inside one another in one cartridge; an ordinary cartridge gun is enough, provided it can apply the pressure. The PP6 made of all metal is designed for this.
- The static mixer is a wearing part. It becomes unusable after curing. Anyone who wants to continue processing an opened cartridge later needs a new one.
- EN 14814 is the standard for pipe adhesives in pressure lines made of thermoplastics – the mention on the ABS adhesive is therefore not there for show but indicates suitability for pressure pipelines.
- The sealing hose does not age in the container. According to the product data it can be stored indefinitely in the original container – unlike cartridge goods, which carry a best-before date.

Frequently asked questions about Tangit
How do I seal a house entry retrospectively?
The annular gap between core drill hole and pipe is first cleaned and closed at the bottom – with formwork or a stuffed-in cord so that nothing runs through. Then M3000 is introduced from above via the static mixer; it flows into the gap and foams up there. The 150 ml cartridge covers a normal penetration. If pressing water is present, a swelling sealing hose additionally belongs in the build-up.
What exactly does “pressing water” mean?
That water stands against the component with hydrostatic pressure – for example because the groundwater level lies above the basement exterior wall or seepage water dams up in a cohesive soil. DIN 18533 assigns such cases to the water exposure classes W2.1-E and W2.2-E. Ground moisture and non-pressing seepage water are the easier case. Which class applies results from the ground survey and design water level – that is a planning question, not an assessment on the building site.
Do I need a special gun for M3000?
No, a coaxial cartridge can be processed with a strong ordinary cartridge gun – all that is needed is the screwed-on static mixer, which brings both components together in the right ratio. Anyone who works with it regularly is better served by the PP6 made of all metal: it transmits more force and lasts longer than plastic devices.
What is the ABS adhesive intended for?
For pipes and fittings made of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, as they are mainly installed in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. The Tangit ABS adhesive is specified to EN 14814 and EN ISO 15493 and is thus suitable for pressure pipelines; it also bridges joint gaps that fit less precisely. For PVC-U or PE, other adhesives or joining methods apply – the material information on the pipe is binding here.
