Information on battery and WEEE disposal
Waste batteries and rechargeable batteries
Some of our items (for example cordless cartridge guns) contain batteries or rechargeable batteries. Batteries must not be put in household waste. As an end user you are legally obliged to return waste batteries.
You can return waste batteries of the type we carry or have carried, free of charge:
- by sending them to our business address: Daniel Maas, Baustoffheld, Lindenstraße 56, 47623 Kevelaer, Germany. We ship our goods directly from our suppliers' warehouses and have no retail shop; please announce the return briefly by email to info@baustoff-held.de so that we can make sure it is accepted,
- at any point of sale that offers batteries of this type,
- at the municipal collection points (recycling centre).
Batteries containing lithium can catch fire if damaged, short-circuited or strongly heated. Tape over the terminals before returning them, pack each battery separately and hand damaged batteries in only at a collection point. Remove rechargeable batteries before disposing of an appliance, where that is possible without destroying it.
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol means that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste. The letters under the symbol indicate the pollutants it contains: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. Separate collection and recycling of waste batteries conserve raw materials and prevent pollutants from entering the environment. Before disposing of a battery, check whether it can still be used or reconditioned.
Waste electrical and electronic equipment
Electrical appliances do not belong in household waste (crossed-out wheeled bin symbol). You can hand in waste appliances free of charge at municipal collection points and at distributors with a sales area, or a storage and dispatch area, for electrical appliances of at least 400 m². Batteries and lamps contained in them must be removed before handing them in, as far as that is possible without destroying them. Delete personal data on the device before handing it in.
We do not maintain our own storage and dispatch area for electrical appliances (we ship directly from the supplier) and are therefore not obliged to take back waste appliances. We answer questions about disposal at info@baustoff-held.de. This English version is a translation provided for your convenience; the legally binding version is the German one.
