Description
The PE backing cord is an extruded backfill profile made of polyethylene for preparing expansion joints before jointing with silicone. It limits the joint depth and prevents 3-flank adhesion for permanently elastic joints indoors and outdoors.

Technical details
Material: polyethylene (PE), extruded, closed-cell, colour grey. Fire behaviour B2 to DIN 4102. Dimensionally stable even when damp, so the silicone joint stays permanently elastic.
Application tip
Press evenly into the joint with a blunt object, e.g. a joint smoother, without perforating the surface. Then prime and fill the joint with silicone.
