Description
BIWA Kompriband K600 BG1 is a pre-compressed joint sealing tape made of flexible polyurethane foam with a flame-retardant acrylate impregnation for the outer, directly weathered sealing level of joints and connections. It meets load group BG 1 to DIN 18542 and is flame-retardant (B1) to DIN 4102-1. It is supplied pre-compressed on a roll for joint widths of 1 to 25 mm – in black in all 16 dimensions, in grey in 12/2-6, 15/2-6, 15/4-9 and 15/5-12. It is intended for window fitters, facade builders and experienced DIY users.

Limits & notes
K600 BG1 is designed for the outer, weathered level. For sealing the interior side of the window connection, a separate solution is needed, such as a window connection membrane or a multifunction tape for all three levels. The characteristic values depend on the degree of compression – the tape must therefore match the actual joint width.
Application & tips
Choose the dimension according to the joint width: the order code gives tape width or joint depth and the joint width range (15/2-6 = 15 mm tape width for joints of 2 to 6 mm). Prepare the joint flanks clean, dry and free of dust and grease, insert the tape and let it expand; it expands in a controlled way and fills the joint. Detailed laying instructions are in the manufacturer's separate processing leaflet. Store in the original packaging at room temperature below 20 °C – this way the tape can be stored for 2 years.

Which dimension do I need?
Measure the joint width and choose the tape whose range covers it – for a 6 mm wide joint, for example, 15/4-9 or 20/4-9. The first number is the tape width and should match the joint depth.
Is the tape suitable for outdoors?
Yes, it is made for the outer, directly weathered level, UV-resistant and driving-rain-tight to BG 1 over 600 Pa.
How many metres are on a roll?
Depending on joint width between 13 m (1–4 mm) and 2.6 m (11–25 mm); the length is given in the variant name.
Which colours are available?
