Ottoseal S17 high-temperature silicone +285 °C 310 ml

Description

Ottoseal S17 High-Temperature Silicone for heat-resistant yet stress-compensating bonding and sealing, e.g. on cast-section boilers, flue gas boxes, tiled stoves. Also suitable in the motor vehicle sector for applications in engines and gearboxes. Ottoseal S17 High-Temperature Silicone has a temperature resistance of up to + 285 °C.

  • Neutral-curing 1K high-temperature silicone
  • Exceptionally high temperature resistance of up to + 285 °C
  • High bond strength
  • Non-corrosive

Areas of application of High-Temperature Silicone:

  • High-temperature silicone for heat-resistant yet stress-compensating bonding and sealing, e.g. on cast-section boilers, flue gas boxes, tiled stoves etc.
  • Also suitable for vehicle applications in engines and gearboxes

Substrates:

The bonding surfaces must be clean, free of grease, dry and sound so that the high-temperature adhesive adheres. The bonding surfaces must be cleaned and any contamination, such as release agents, preservatives, grease, oil, dust, water, old adhesives / sealants and other substances that impair adhesion, must be removed. Cleaning non-porous substrates: clean with OTTO Cleaner T (flash-off time approx. 1 minute) and a clean, lint-free cloth. Cleaning porous substrates: clean surfaces of loose particles mechanically, e.g. with a wire brush or a grinding disc

Application:

Application method: manual caulking gun, compressed-air gun or cordless gun
Application temperature:
+5°C to +40°C (ambient temperature)
+5ºC to +35ºC (bonding surface temperature)
The heat-resistant sealing compound must be completely cured before it is exposed to temperatures above + 50 °C. The high-temperature silicone is not a fire-protection silicone. For this we recommend OTTOSEAL S 94. Because of the many possible influences during processing and application, the applicator must always carry out a trial application. The specific use-by date can be found printed on the container and must be observed. We recommend storing our products in the unopened original containers dry (< 60 % RH) in a temperature range of + 15° C to + 25° C. If the products are stored and / or transported for longer periods (several weeks) at higher temperature/ humidity, a reduction in shelf life or a change in material properties cannot be ruled out.

Storage:

12 months from the date of production in unopened packaging, stored cool (+5ºC and +25ºC) and dry . Close opened containers tightly and use up quickly.

All reviews come from buyers. Reviews can only be submitted via the personal, signed link we send to the order's e-mail address after delivery; the link is bound to the order and the purchased item, there is no form without a purchase. We check every review before publication and publish positive and negative reviews alike. Reviews from our former shop baustoffhandel-nrw.de were migrated; there, too, only customers who had bought the item could review it.

For your project

These products go with it

Project: Seal stove and fireplace

Joints at the stove, fireplace cladding and flue pipe need a sealant that permanently tolerates the operating temperature: high-temperature silicone up to about 285 °C for cladding and connections, stove cement for the hot spots directly at the firebox. First free the flanks of soot and loose parts.
