Description
Ottoseal S94 heat-resistant sealing compound for sealing on components that are subject to increased requirements for fire behaviour (e.g. fire-retardant components and fire-resistant glazing)
- Flame-retardant to DIN 4102-B1
- Paint-compatible to DIN 52452 (not paintable over)
- Non-corrosive
- Very good weather, ageing and UV resistance
- Tensile stress at 100% elongation (ISO 37, S3A): 0.4 N/mm²
Areas of application of heat-resistant sealing compound:
- Sealing on components that are subject to increased requirements for fire behaviour (e.g. fire-retardant components and fire-resistant glazing)
- Suitable for jointing on glass elements
Substrates:
The bonding surfaces must be clean, free of grease, dry and sound so that the high-temperature adhesive adheres. The bonding surfaces must be cleaned and any contamination, such as release agents, preservatives, grease, oil, dust, water, old adhesives / sealants and other substances that impair adhesion, must be removed. Cleaning non-porous substrates: clean with OTTO Cleaner T (flash-off time approx. 1 minute) and a clean, lint-free cloth. Cleaning porous substrates: clean surfaces of loose particles mechanically, e.g. with a wire brush or a grinding disc
Application:
Application method: manual caulking gun, compressed-air gun or cordless gun
Application temperature:
+5°C to +40°C (ambient temperature)
+5ºC to +35ºC (bonding surface temperature)
The heat-resistant sealing compound must be completely cured before it is exposed to temperatures above + 50 °C. The high-temperature silicone is not a fire-protection silicone. For this we recommend OTTOSEAL S 94. Because of the many possible influences during processing and application, the applicator must always carry out a trial application. The specific use-by date can be found printed on the container and must be observed. We recommend storing our products in the unopened original containers dry (< 60 % RH) in a temperature range of + 15° C to + 25° C. If the products are stored and / or transported for longer periods (several weeks) at higher temperature/ humidity, a reduction in shelf life or a change in material properties cannot be ruled out.
