Description
OTTO Cleanprimer 1101 is an adhesion cleaner based on a solvent-based cleaner with adhesion promoter for coated and uncoated metallic materials and various plastics such as PVC. It cleans the bonding surfaces and improves the adhesion of OTTO sealants and adhesives in one operation. The 250 ml aluminium bottle is intended for several joints or one building project.

Limits & notes
The Cleanprimer is intended for metals and plastics. For porous, mineral substrates such as concrete or plaster there are separate OTTO mineral primers. For combinations other than with OTTO sealants and adhesives, OTTO recommends preliminary tests. Do not apply the primer beyond the joint edges and bonding surfaces, otherwise soiling or visual changes are possible.

Application & tips
Free the bonding surfaces of release agents, grease, oil, dust, water and old adhesives or sealants; clean non-porous substrates with OTTO Cleaner T and a clean, lint-free cloth, clean porous substrates of loose particles mechanically, for example with a steel brush or grinding disc. Apply the Cleanprimer with a clean rag and sufficient pressure so that it cleans well. A drying time is not required; further processing can also take place several hours later, provided no dust gets onto the surface. Solvent-containing, flammable: only with good ventilation, away from ignition sources; wear safety goggles and solvent-resistant gloves, according to the safety data sheet made of butyl rubber with a thickness of more than 0.4 mm. Because of the many influences on site, a trial application is always necessary. The use-by date is on the container, storage stability is 12 months at 23 °C.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Cleanprimer have to flash off?
No. OTTO gives no flash-off time, the sealant can follow directly.
Is the Cleanprimer applied with a brush?
No. It is applied with a clean rag and sufficient pressure so that cleaning and adhesion improvement act at the same time.
Is the Cleanprimer suitable for concrete or plaster?
No, it is intended for metals and plastics. For absorbent, mineral substrates OTTO offers its own mineral primers.
