Description
Sika SikaBond TF Plus R is a one-component membrane adhesive based on polyurethane for bonding SikaMembran facade membranes in rear-ventilated facades. It is classified as very low emission to EMICODE EC1PLUS and stays permanently elastic with 650 percent elongation at break. The 600 ml foil bag with 770 g content is aimed at facade and window construction businesses.
Benefits at a glance
- Single-sided application: the membrane is laid in, no contact pressure is required.
- Time to align: up to 30 minutes after sticking on, the membrane can still be corrected.
- Very low emissions: EMICODE EC1PLUS, DGNB 2018 quality level 4, LEED v4.1 class A+.
- Absorbs facade movement: 650 percent elongation at break at Shore A 30.
- Wide range of adhesion: very good adhesion on concrete, aluminium, powder coatings, rigid PVC and wood.
- Designed for weathering: permanently loadable from -40 to +90 °C.
Areas of application
- Bonding SikaMembran facade membranes in rear-ventilated facades
- Full-surface bonding of the vapour-permeable SikaMembran variants
- Membrane connection to concrete and mineral substrates
- Bonding to aluminium profiles and powder-coated components
- Membrane connection to rigid PVC frames and timber components
Limits & notes
TF Plus R is the system adhesive for the SikaMembran membrane system; the data sheet specifies it for bonding the facade membranes, not as a universal assembly adhesive. Do not apply below 5 °C substrate or ambient temperature.
Hazard statements: Danger. H317 May cause an allergic skin reaction. H334 May cause allergy or asthma symptoms or breathing difficulties if inhaled. EUH204 Contains isocyanates. May produce an allergic reaction. Safety data sheet available from the manufacturer.
Application & tips
Prepare the substrate clean, dry and free of dust and grease; mineral substrates must be sound. Apply the adhesive in beads with a foil-bag gun and lay the membrane in without pressing it on; it can still be corrected within 30 minutes. Substrate and surroundings should be between 5 and 40 °C, skin formation starts after around 190 minutes. Contains isocyanates. Process only with disposable nitrile gloves and safety goggles, and ensure good ventilation; cured adhesive can only be removed mechanically. Commercial users have needed training under REACH Annex XVII No 74 since 24 August 2023. Stored unopened and below 25 °C, the material keeps for 12 months.
