  • Bonding insulation elements, e.g. made of polystyrene, PVC, PU etc.
  • Bonding fire-protection building boards, e.g. made of plasterboard or gypsum fibre

  • Bonding plastics, e.g. rigid PVC, GRP etc.

Standards and tests:

  • Ottocoll P85 PU Adhesive / PU Assembly Adhesive is tested to DIN EN 204-D4 — weather-resistant bonds for wood and wood-based materials (Institute for Window Technology, Rosenheim)
  • Ottocoll P85 PU Adhesive / PU Assembly Adhesive is tested to DIN EN 14257 (Watt 91) — bond strength of wood adhesives (Institute for Window Technology, Rosenheim)

Special notes:

Before using the adhesive / sealant, the user must ensure that the materials in the contact area (solid, liquid and gaseous) are compatible with the adhesive / sealant and do not damage or alter it (e.g. discolour it). For materials that are subsequently processed in the area of the adhesive / sealant, the user must clarify beforehand that their ingredients or emissions cannot impair or alter the adhesive / sealant (e.g. discolouration). If necessary, the user must consult the respective manufacturer of the materials. For bonding outdoors under the effect of moisture and/or UV radiation we recommend using our hybrid adhesives such as OTTOCOLL M 500 or OTTOCOLL Allflex. The exception is weather-exposed bonding of wood and wood-based materials with a subsequent protective coating in accordance with DIN EN 204 D4. Paints, varnishes, plastics and other coating materials must be compatible with the adhesive / sealant. Compatible with marble and natural stones and causes no greasing or discolouration on these materials. Under UV exposure, discolouration cannot be ruled out. The tools can be cleaned with OTTO Cleaner MP as long as the adhesive has not yet set. Cured adhesive can only be removed mechanically. Not suitable for butt-joint bonding of gypsum fibreboards. Not suitable for bonding glass, polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), bituminous, waxy or oily substrates or the like.

Pre-treatment:

The bonding surfaces must be cleaned and any contamination, such as release agents, preservatives, grease, oil, dust, water, old adhesives/sealants and other substances that impair adhesion, must be removed. Cleaning non-porous substrates: clean with OTTO Cleaner T (flash-off time approx. 1 minute) and a clean, lint-free cloth. Cleaning porous substrates: clean surfaces of loose particles mechanically, e.g. with a steel brush or a grinding disc. Sand smooth surfaces and remove the dust. The bonding surfaces must be clean, free of dust and grease and sound.

Application:

It is sufficient to apply Ottocoll P85 PU Adhesive / PU Assembly Adhesive to one side. If necessary, spread over the surface with a spatula or similar. Curing takes place by reaction with moisture. This produces small amounts of CO2, which causes an increase in volume of the Ottocoll P85 PU Adhesive / PU Assembly Adhesive. Fix the materials to be bonded until the Ottocoll P85 PU Adhesive / PU Assembly Adhesive has cured completely. One of the substrates should be porous or permeable to water vapour. The moisture required for curing can, if necessary, be provided by lightly spraying with water. The bonding surfaces may be slightly damp, but not wet. The parts to be bonded should be joined together immediately if possible, at the latest within the skin-forming time. The time to curing can be shortened by adding moisture and by higher temperatures. Because of the many possible influences during processing and application, the applicator must always carry out a trial application. The specific use-by date can be found printed on the container and must be observed. We recommend storing the adhesives / sealants in the unopened original containers dry (< 60 % RH) in a temperature range of + 15° C to + 25° C. If the products are stored and/or transported for longer periods (several weeks) at higher temperature/humidity, a reduction in shelf life or a change in material properties cannot be ruled out.

All reviews come from buyers. Reviews can only be submitted via the personal, signed link we send to the order's e-mail address after delivery; the link is bound to the order and the purchased item, there is no form without a purchase. We check every review before publication and publish positive and negative reviews alike. Reviews from our former shop baustoffhandel-nrw.de were migrated; there, too, only customers who had bought the item could review it.

For your project

These products go with it

Project: Bond strips, boards and panels

Bond strips, panels and wall boards onto a clean, load-bearing and dust-free substrate; absorbent surfaces such as plaster or concrete need a primer depending on the adhesive. Apply the adhesive in strips or, for large boards, over the full surface with the notched trowel and fix the parts until the adhesive has grabbed.
