Description
These colour chips are coloured broadcast chips made of polyvinyl acetate for the decorative finishing of floor coatings. The 3-4 mm chips are scattered into the fresh coating and create a marbled, multi-coloured surface. They are available in 13 colours, as a 100 g bag for sample areas and small floors and as a 1 kg bag for larger areas.
Benefits at a glance
- Conceals small flaws: the colour contrast visually masks small irregularities and bubbles that stand out immediately on single-colour coatings.
- Individual look: 13 colours from white through dove blue to black, broadcast singly or mixed.
- For indoor and outdoor use: the chips are light-fast and UV-resistant.
- Uniform chip size: 3-4 mm ensures an even scatter pattern.
- The right quantity: 100 g for sample areas and repairs, 1 kg for whole rooms.
Areas of application
- Garage floors and cellar floors with a floor coating
- Workshops, storerooms and hobby rooms
- Balcony and terrace coatings
- Retail and exhibition areas with a decorative floor covering
Limits & notes
The chips are a decorative additive and not a coating in their own right. Whether the surface has to be sealed after broadcasting, and which material is suitable for that, depends on the system build-up specified by the manufacturer of the floor coating. No coverage figure per square metre is available, because the quantity depends solely on the desired scatter density.
Application & tips
Apply the floor coating as specified by its manufacturer. Then scatter the chips evenly by hand into the still fresh layer so that no small heaps form. Mix several colours beforehand in a dry bucket so that the colour pattern stays the same across the whole area. Lay a test area before tackling larger surfaces and use it to establish the quantity needed for the desired scatter density.
Frequently asked questions
How large are the chips?
The chips are 3-4 mm in size.
How many colour chips do I need per square metre?
That depends on the desired scatter density. Establish the quantity on a test area – that is what the 100 g bag is for.
Can I mix several colours?
Yes. The colours can be combined freely. Mix the chips before broadcasting so that the distribution is even.
Are the chips suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, they are light-fast and UV-resistant and intended for floor coatings indoors and outdoors.
