Description
The Schuller Eh'klar KARO is a notched trowel made of stainless steel for the even application of adhesives and tile adhesives. The 180 mm wide blade sits in a wooden handle bar. This version has the notch A3 according to the classification of the Technical Commission for Building Adhesives with a notch dimension of 0.4 × 1.6 × 1.5 mm.

Limits & notes
The notch size determines the application quantity, not the adhesion. The notch recommendation of the adhesive manufacturer for covering, format and substrate is always binding. Stainless does not mean maintenance-free: dried-on adhesive must be removed mechanically, and worn teeth reduce the application quantity unnoticed.
Application & tips
Prepare the substrate sound, dust-free and free of release agents. First pull the adhesive on generously with the smooth edge and then comb it through with the notches at a constant angle of about 60 degrees. Only this produces the comb profile to which the consumption figure in the adhesive manufacturer's data sheet refers. Comb only as much area as can be covered within the open time. After work, clean immediately with water while the adhesive is fresh, and store the spatula dry.
Frequently asked questions
Which notch size do I need?
The adhesive manufacturer specifies this in the technical data sheet, depending on covering, format and substrate. As a guide: A notches for thin applications and small formats, B notches for the standard range, C notches for large formats and thick adhesive beds.
What does TKB stand for?
For the Technical Commission on Construction Adhesives within the German adhesives industry association. Its designations A1 to C4 are the industry standard to which the adhesive manufacturers' consumption figures refer.
Can I use the same spatula for tile adhesive and flooring adhesive?
Yes, as long as the required notch size fits. Clean completely between two types of adhesive so that no residues cure.
How can I tell that the spatula is worn?
When the tooth tips are visibly rounded or the comb profile no longer holds cleanly. The adhesive application is then lower than stated in the data sheet.
