Description
Ottopur OP 910 is a 1K gun foam based on polyurethane for installing and insulating window and door frames in masonry. It insulates the connection with approx. 62 dB to EN ISO 717-1 and 0.037 W/mK and, as EMICODE EC 1 Plus, has very low emissions. The 750 ml can delivers approx. 45 litres of foam.
Benefits at a glance
- Sound-insulating: approx. 62 dB in the joint build-up to EN ISO 717-1.
- Insulates like insulation material: approx. 0.037 W/mK to EN 17333-5.
- High yield: approx. 45 litres of foam or 30 running metres of joint per can.
- Quick to move on: cuttable after approx. 30 minutes, loadable after approx. 3-5 hours.
- Low emission: EMICODE EC 1 Plus and VOC class A+.
Areas of application
- Window and door frames made of timber, steel or plastic in masonry
- Internal partition walls and window sills
- Cavities of all kinds, also narrow joints in the renovation of old buildings
- Well and shaft rings in manholes and domestic septic tanks
- Perimeter insulation: rigid polystyrene foam boards to DIN 4108-2, approx. 14 m² per can
Limits & notes
The foam is normally flammable (class E to DIN EN 13501-1): a B1 fire protection foam belongs at connections with fire protection requirements. Outdoors, the cured foam must be painted over, sealed or covered, because it is not UV-resistant. It remains water-impermeable only if uncut. Fill cavities only partially, as the volume increases during curing.
Hazard statements: Danger. H222 Extremely flammable aerosol. H229 Pressurised container: may burst if heated. H315 Causes skin irritation. H317 May cause an allergic skin reaction. H319 Causes serious eye irritation. H332 Harmful if inhaled. H334 May cause allergy or asthma symptoms or breathing difficulties if inhaled. H335 May cause respiratory irritation. H351 Suspected of causing cancer. H373 May cause damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure. EUH204 Contains isocyanates. May produce an allergic reaction. Safety data sheet available from the manufacturer.
Application & tips
Clean and dampen the substrate, brace components against deformation. Shake the can at least 20 times and screw it into the foam gun without tightening. Contains isocyanates. Apply only with disposable nitrile gloves and safety goggles, ensure good ventilation; cured foam can only be removed mechanically. Commercial users have needed training under REACH Annex XVII No. 74 since 24 August 2023. Propellant extremely flammable: work away from ignition sources, protect the can from sun and from temperatures above +50 °C. Remove fresh residues with gun cleaner, store cans upright at +5 to +25 °C, shelf life unopened 12 months.
Frequently asked questions
How many windows can I do with one can?
With a joint of 2 × 7 cm, the approx. 30 running metres are enough for about five windows with 5 m connection length.
Do I need a foam gun?
Yes. OP 910 has a screw connection and cannot be dosed without a gun.
Why does the substrate have to be dampened?
The 1K foam cures with moisture: dampening speeds up curing and improves the cell structure.
Is OP 910 suitable for load-bearing door frames?
A 2K door frame foam is better for that: it cures to a pressure-resistant state independently of atmospheric humidity.
