Description
Teroson FO KSK M+S is a cold self-adhesive bitumen waterproofing membrane based on HDPE from Henkel for waterproofing components in contact with the ground to DIN 18533. It covers classes W1.1-E and W1.2-E and serves under screeds as a barrier against capillary rising damp to class W4-E. It is radon-tight, certified to EMICODE EC 1 Plus and every characteristic value is documented in the data sheet. The roll with an area of 15 m² at a sheet width of 1 m is aimed at specialist firms.

Limits & notes
The membrane is approved for ground moisture and non-pressurised water. It is not sufficient for accumulating seepage water and pressing water, for example in cohesive soils without drainage or below the design water level; a system for class W2.1-E is required there. The finished waterproofing must be protected against mechanical damage in accordance with DIN 18533-1, usually with dimpled membrane or a protective board. Without a primer the membrane does not adhere reliably to mineral substrates.
Application & tips
The substrate must be sound, level, sufficiently dry, frost-free and free of oil, grease, tar and release agents; preparation is carried out to DIN 18533-2. Break edges, form coves, prime with Teroson PR Primer M+S. Peel off the release paper, apply the sheet without wrinkles, roll it on from the middle outwards, bond joints with an overlap of around 80 mm. Application from -5 °C to +35 °C, heat-resistant above +60 °C to DIN 52123, cold-bending behaviour down to -30 °C. Store rolls standing, frost-free and dry.
Frequently asked questions
What distinguishes the Teroson membrane from simple KSK sheets?
All characteristic values are stated with test standard in the data sheet, the membrane is radon-tight and certified to EMICODE EC 1 Plus, and primer and seam tape come from the same manufacturer.
Is the membrane enough for a basement in groundwater?
No. It covers ground moisture and non-pressurised water. With pressing water or accumulating seepage water, a system for class W2.1-E is necessary.
Do I have to prime?
Yes, mineral substrates are primed. Henkel names Teroson PR Primer M+S for this, especially on damp substrates and in the cold.
How much area does a roll cover?
15 m² minus the overlap of around 80 mm per joint and offcuts at corners.
