Description
Sika SikaBond T-1 Purform is an elastic building adhesive based on 1K polyurethane for structural bonding indoors and outdoors. It cures with atmospheric moisture, stays permanently elastic and achieves a tensile strength of 1.3 N/mm² at 750 % elongation at break. The 300 ml cartridge in concrete grey is aimed at roofers, plumbers, facade builders and demanding DIY users.
Benefits at a glance
- Absorbs movement: Shore A hardness 41 and 750 % elongation at break absorb expansion, impact and vibration.
- Bonds and seals at the same time: the elastic bond line also takes over the sealing, for example under sheet-metal cladding.
- Built for outdoors: ageing- and weather-resistant, permanently usable from -40 °C to +80 °C.
- Purform technology: under 0.1 % free monomeric diisocyanates, so no training obligation under the 2023 REACH restriction.
- Also for interiors: EMICODE EC1PLUS, very low emissions, creditable for LEED v4 EQc 2.
Areas of application
- Tiles on balconies and floor slabs
- Fall protection mats and supports of raised floors
- Sheet-metal cladding in roofing, plumbing and facade work
- Timber and fibre composite components indoors and outdoors
Limits & notes
Do not use for glass bonding, in swimming pool areas or on Teflon, PE, PP, polystyrene, bituminous and oil- or plasticiser-containing substrates. The adhesive cures with atmospheric moisture; the curing of around 3.5 mm in 24 hours applies at 23 °C and 50 % relative humidity.
Hazard statements: Warning. H317 May cause an allergic skin reaction. EUH204 Contains isocyanates. May produce an allergic reaction. Safety data sheet available from the manufacturer.
Application & tips
The bonding surfaces must be sound, firm, clean, dry and free of oil, grease and dust; air and substrate between +5 °C and +40 °C. Apply the adhesive with a manual caulking gun as a bead through a 10 x 8 mm triangular nozzle or in spots, and join and fix the parts within the skin-forming time of about 45 minutes. Contains isocyanates. Process only with disposable nitrile gloves and safety goggles, and ensure good ventilation; cured adhesive can only be removed mechanically. Store unopened cartridges dry for 15 months at +5 °C to +25 °C.
Frequently asked questions
How many metres can I get from one cartridge?
With a 10 x 8 mm triangular nozzle about 6.5 linear metres of adhesive bead, with spot application around 100 adhesive spots.
Does the adhesive stick without a primer?
On the usual load-bearing building materials yes, provided the surface is clean, dry and free of grease. It does not adhere to Teflon, PE, PP and polystyrene.
Do I need isocyanate training as a business?
No. Thanks to Purform technology, the content of free monomeric diisocyanates is under 0.1 %, so the training obligation of the 2023 REACH restriction does not apply.
Is the adhesive also available in white?
No, Sika supplies SikaBond T-1 Purform exclusively in concrete grey. The former Uniweiß (universal white) existed only for the predecessor SikaBond T-1+.
