Description
Ottoseal A205 Acrylic Sealant is a low-odour premium acrylic sealant. Ottoseal A205 Acrylic Sealant allows movement of 18%. After complete curing, Ottoseal A205 Acrylic Sealant has a temperature resistance of -20 C to +80 C. Ottoseal A205 Acrylic Sealant was rated "very good" in the ÖKO-Test guide "Building, Living and Renovating". Ottoseal A205 Acrylic Sealant is particularly suited to expansion and connection joints with only low stress, e.g. between wooden window or door frames and masonry, plaster or concrete.

Areas of application:
- Primarily suitable for interior fit-out, but can be used outdoors without difficulty at temperatures above +5 °C

- Joints and connections on concrete, aerated concrete, plaster, masonry, wood, plasterboard, fibre cement, roller shutter boxes, window sills etc.

Special notes:
Before using the adhesive / sealant, the user must ensure that the materials in the contact area (solid, liquid and gaseous) are compatible with the adhesive / sealant and do not damage or alter it (e.g. discolour it). For materials that are subsequently processed in the area of the adhesive / sealant, the user must clarify beforehand that their ingredients or emissions cannot impair or alter the adhesive / sealant (e.g. discolouration). If necessary, the user must consult the respective manufacturer of the materials. At normal temperature (23 °C / 50 % RH) the sealant forms a firm surface skin after approx. 2 hrs. Until then, rain or other exposure to water on the fresh sealant must be avoided at all costs. Lower temperatures and / or high humidity can considerably reduce the drying speed of the sealant. Do not apply at temperatures below +5 °C. During curing/drying the sealant changes colour. The final shade is reached after complete curing. Compatibility with water-based paints is given in most cases. Because of the large number of paint systems available on the market, however, we recommend checking the compatibility of sealant and paint or consulting our application technology department. According to the relevant standards, elastic joint sealants should in principle not be painted over the full surface, since, under stress and movement, cracks can appear in the paint coatings, which unlike the sealant are not elastic. Where the sealant is painted over in joints with little movement, a drying time of at least 1 week must be observed. Avoid contact with materials containing bitumen or releasing plasticisers, e.g. butyl, EPDM, neoprene, insulating coatings and black coatings. After curing, the product is completely odourless, physiologically harmless and inert.
Pre-treatment:
The bonding surfaces must be clean, free of dust and grease and sound. The bonding surfaces must be cleaned and any contamination, such as release agents, preservatives, grease, oil, dust, water, old adhesives / sealants and other substances that impair adhesion, must be removed. Cleaning non-porous substrates: clean with OTTO Cleaner T (flash-off time approx. 1 minute) and a clean, lint-free cloth. Cleaning porous substrates: clean surfaces
mechanically, e.g. with a steel brush or a grinding disc, of loose particles. Absorbent mineral bonding surfaces should be dampened with water to improve adhesion. The following are also available to improve adhesion: on absorbent substrates - mixture of acrylic sealant/water 1:2 - on absorbent and non-absorbent substrates: OTTO Primer
Application:
Apply the sealant evenly with a manual caulking gun or compressed-air gun and press the surface down with a dampened tool before a skin begins to form. Remove contamination with water while it is fresh. Because of the many possible influences during processing and application, the applicator must always carry out a trial application. The specific use-by date can be found printed on the container and must be observed. We recommend storing the adhesives / sealants in the unopened original containers dry (< 60 % RH) in a temperature range of + 15° C to + 25° C. If the products are stored and/or transported for longer periods
(several weeks) at higher temperature/humidity, a reduction in shelf life or a change in material properties cannot be ruled out.
