Application & tips
Prepare the joint flanks sound, clean, dry and free from grease; depending on the substrate Sika prescribes an adhesion cleaner and a primer. Back the joint with closed-cell PE backing rod, width to depth for floor joints approximately 1 : 0.8, minimum width 10 mm. Apply at +5 to +40 °C; the substrate must be at least 3 K above the dew point. Contains isocyanates. Work only with disposable nitrile gloves and safety goggles and ensure good ventilation; cured sealant can be removed mechanically only. Since 24 August 2023 professional users have required training under REACH Annex XVII No. 74. Skin formation begins after about 100 minutes, through-curing is around 3.5 mm in 24 hours, and the joint is fully loadable after about 14 days at 20 °C. Store cool and dry at +5 to +25 °C; unopened shelf life 15 months.
