Description
Schuller Allround RP size 2 is a round brush with a pure synthetic bristle blend and twofold thread binding for narrow edges, window rebates, glazing bars and corners. Schuller approves it for all paints, varnishes and stains; it is particularly suitable for water-soluble products. With 20 mm thickness and 66 mm bristle length, it is aimed at painters and DIY enthusiasts who work with water-based varnish, stain or emulsion paint.

Limits & notes
Solvent-based varnishes can also be applied with the brush, but its strengths lie with water-based products. Anyone who mainly works with synthetic resin paint or oil is better served by a brush with natural bristle (China bristle). Large, smooth wall surfaces are painted faster with a paint roller.
Application & tips
Before first use, knock new brushes out in the palm of your hand so that loose bristles do not end up in the paint. Dip the brush in up to about a third of the bristle length and wipe it off on the rim of the container. Apply varnish thinly, spread it crosswise and finish with strokes along the grain or in one direction. Wash out water-based products with water straight after the work; with solvent-based products use the cleaning agent specified by the paint manufacturer. Shake out the washed brush and let it dry lying down or hanging, never standing on the bristles.
Frequently asked questions
What do I use size 2 for?
For everything narrower than about two fingers: window glazing bars, rebates, profile strips and small touch-ups. It is too small for surfaces.
What is the difference between a round brush and a flat brush?
The round filling holds more paint and can be guided better on profiles, curves and in corners; a flat brush draws straight edges on smooth surfaces more easily.
Can I also use the brush for solvent-based varnish?
Yes, Schuller approves it for all paints, varnishes and stains. It works best with water-soluble paints and varnishes.
How do I clean the brush after water-based varnish?
Wash out immediately with lukewarm water until the water stays clear. The synthetic bristles do not swell in the process.
