Description
Ottoseal S117 Natural Stone Silicone for applying silicone joints on marble and all natural stones, e.g. sandstone, quartzite, granite, gneiss, porphyry etc. indoors and outdoors. Ottoseal S117 offers resistance to weathering, ageing and UV.

Application of Ottoseal S117:
The bonding surfaces must be clean, free of grease, dry and sound. The bonding surfaces must be cleaned and any contamination, such as release agents, preservatives, grease, oil, dust, water, old adhesives/sealants and other substances that impair adhesion, must be removed. Cleaning non-porous substrates: clean with OTTO Cleaner T (flash-off time approx. 1 minute) and a clean, lint-free cloth. Cleaning porous substrates: clean surfaces of loose particles mechanically, e.g. with a steel brush or a grinding disc.
The requirements for elastic seals and bonds depend on the respective external influences. Extreme temperature fluctuations, expansion and shear forces, repeated contact with water etc. place high demands on an adhesive bond. In such cases, where recommended, the use of a primer is advisable in order to achieve as durable a bond as possible.
Especially on unpolished natural stone surfaces, do not spread the natural stone sealant beyond the joints, as smears are difficult to remove. Use natural stone smoothing agent (undiluted) for smoothing. Excess material must be washed off or removed immediately. The use of otherwise customary smoothing agents (e.g. washing-up liquid etc.) is not recommended because of the high stain sensitivity of some types of marble and natural stone. Because of the many possible influences during processing and application, the applicator must always carry out a trial application. The specific use-by date can be found printed on the container and must be observed. We recommend storing our products in the unopened original containers dry (< 60 % RH) in a temperature range of + 15° C to + 25° C. If the products are stored and / or transported for longer periods (several weeks) at higher temperature/ humidity, a reduction in shelf life or a change in material properties cannot be ruled out.
