Ottocoll P86 corner joint adhesive 310 ml

Description

Ottocoll P86 is a non-sag adhesive based on polyurethane that fills cavities ideally and Ottocoll P86 adheres excellently to metals. Ottocoll P86 adhesive is economical in use and, thanks to its easy handling, Ottocoll P86 can be applied easily. After curing, Ottocoll P86 adhesive has an extremely high tensile strength. The inexpensive Ottocoll P86 is particularly suited to weather-resistant bonding of corner connectors on metal windows, doors and facades as well as conservatories.

  • Non-sag adhesive based on polyurethane
  • Excellent adhesion on metals
  • Easy handling
  • Long skin-forming time
  • Fills cavities ideally through slight foaming
  • Economical in use
  • Tensile strength after 7 days - approx. 14,000 N (ift test certificate)

Areas of application of PU Metal Adhesive:

  • General bonding in metal construction
  • Weather-resistant bonding of corner connectors on metal windows, doors and facades as well as conservatories
  • Bonding modified wood

Standards and tests:

  • Tensile strength tested at the Institute for Window Technology, Rosenheim
  • Meets the requirements of DIN EN 204-D4 for weather-resistant bonding of wood and wood-based materials
  • Meets the requirements of DIN EN 14257 (WATT 91) for heat-resistant bonding of wood and wood-based materials
  • Expert opinion on the use of OTTOCOLL P 86 translucent for bonding modified wood (Georg-August University of Göttingen)

Special notes:

Before using the adhesive / sealant, the user must ensure that the building materials in the contact area (solid, liquid and gaseous) are compatible with the adhesive / sealant and do not damage or alter it (e.g. discolour it). For building materials that are subsequently processed in the area of the adhesive / sealant, the user must clarify beforehand that their ingredients or emissions cannot impair or alter the adhesive / sealant (e.g. discolouration). If necessary, the user must consult the respective manufacturer of the building materials. For bonding outdoors under the effect of moisture and/or UV radiation we recommend using our hybrid adhesives such as OTTOCOLL M 500 or OTTOCOLL Allflex. The exception is weather-exposed bonding of wood and wood-based materials with a subsequent protective coating in accordance with DIN EN 204 D4. Paints, varnishes, plastics and other coating materials must be compatible with the adhesive / sealant. The tools can be cleaned with OTTO Cleaner MP as long as the adhesive has not yet set. Cured adhesive can only be removed mechanically. Under UV exposure, discolouration cannot be ruled out. Not suitable for bonding glass, polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), bituminous, waxy or oily substrates or the like.

Pre-treatment:

Preparing the bonding surfaces. Compatibility: paints, varnishes, plastics and other coating materials must be compatible with the adhesive / sealant.

Cleaning: The bonding surfaces must be cleaned and any contamination, such as release agents, preservatives, grease, oil, dust, water, old adhesives / sealants and other substances that impair adhesion, must be removed.

Substrates: cleaner for non-porous ones. Cleaning should be carried out with OTTO Cleaner T, or other cleaners based on acetone or isopropanol, and with a clean, lint-free cloth. Cleaner for porous substrates: porous surfaces must be cleaned of loose particles mechanically, e.g. with a steel brush or a grinding disc.

Application notes:

The moisture required for curing can, if necessary, be provided by lightly spraying with water. The bonding surfaces may be slightly damp, but not wet. The parts to be bonded should be joined together immediately if possible, at the latest within the skin-forming time. The time to curing can be shortened by adding moisture and by higher temperatures. Fix the materials to be bonded until the adhesive has cured completely. Because of the many possible influences during processing and application, the applicator must always carry out a trial application. The specific use-by date can be found printed on the container and must be observed. We recommend storing the adhesives / sealants in the unopened original containers dry (< 60 % RH) in a temperature range of + 15° C to + 25° C. If the products are stored and/or transported for longer periods (several weeks) at higher temperature/humidity, a reduction in shelf life or a change in material properties cannot be ruled out.

Application:

Application temperature: +5ºC to +35ºC.
Application method: apply with a manual caulking gun, compressed-air gun or cordless gun.
Cleaning: with white spirit before curing, afterwards removable with silicone remover or mechanically.
Smoothing: with smoothing agent and scraper before a skin forms.

All reviews come from buyers. Reviews can only be submitted via the personal, signed link we send to the order's e-mail address after delivery; the link is bound to the order and the purchased item, there is no form without a purchase. We check every review before publication and publish positive and negative reviews alike. Reviews from our former shop baustoffhandel-nrw.de were migrated; there, too, only customers who had bought the item could review it.
