Special notes:

Before using the adhesive / sealant, the user must ensure that the materials in the contact area (solid, liquid and gaseous) are compatible with the adhesive / sealant and do not damage or alter it (e.g. discolour). For materials that are subsequently processed in the area of the adhesive / sealant, the user must clarify beforehand that their ingredients or emissions cannot impair or alter the adhesive / sealant (e.g. discolouration). If necessary, the user must consult the respective manufacturer of the materials. Not suitable for bonding glass (for this we recommend Ottocoll M500 Hybrid Adhesive), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), bituminous substrates (for this we recommend Ottoseal A250 Bitumen compatible sealant), waxy or oily substrates or similar. Not suitable for bonding acrylic glass (for this we recommend Ottoseal S72 Acrylic Glass Silicone). Not suitable for mirror bonding (for this we recommend Ottocoll S16 Mirror Adhesive). Not suitable for metals that are not corrosion-protected and non-ferrous metals. Can lead to corrosion. After curing, the product is completely odourless, physiologically harmless and inert.

Pre-treatment:

The bonding surfaces must be clean, free of grease, dry and sound. The bonding surfaces must be cleaned and any contamination, such as release agents, preservatives, grease, oil, dust, water, old adhesives / sealants and other substances that impair adhesion, must be removed. Cleaning non-porous substrates: clean with OTTO Cleaner T (flash-off time approx. 1 minute) and a clean, lint-free cloth. Cleaning porous substrates: clean surfaces of loose particles mechanically, e.g. with a steel brush or a grinding disc.

Application notes:

A bonding surface must be absorbent. Apply OTTOCOLL TopFix in dots or beads. Full-surface application (e.g. with a notched spatula) is also possible. Bond while OTTOCOLL TopFix is still wet (approx. 5 min.). Support or fix stressed or very heavy parts. Remove adhesive residues immediately with a damp cloth. Because of the many possible influences during processing and application, the applicator must always carry out a trial application. The specific use-by date can be found printed on the container and must be observed.

Application:

Application temperature: +5ºC to +35ºC.
Application method: apply with a manual caulking gun, compressed-air gun or cordless gun.
Cleaning: with white spirit before curing, afterwards removable with silicone remover or mechanically.
Smoothing: with  smoothing agent and scraper  before a skin forms.

Storage:

Store OTTOCOLL TopFix in the unopened original containers dry (< 60 % RH) in a temperature range of + 15° C to + 25° C. If OTTOCOLL TopFix is stored and / or transported for longer periods (several weeks) at higher temperature/ humidity, a reduction in shelf life or a change in material properties cannot be ruled out.

Project: Bond strips, boards and panels

Bond strips, panels and wall boards onto a clean, load-bearing and dust-free substrate; absorbent surfaces such as plaster or concrete need a primer depending on the adhesive. Apply the adhesive in strips or, for large boards, over the full surface with the notched trowel and fix the parts until the adhesive has grabbed.
