Description
OTTO Primer 1225 is a viscous, film-forming universal primer based on a solvent-based adhesion promoter combination. It improves adhesion on mineral and absorbent materials, some metallic materials and some plastics. The 100 ml aluminium bottle is enough for individual joints and minor repairs.

Limits & notes
The primer must be applied thinly and evenly; excess primer forms a film that impairs adhesion. A soiled brush must never be dipped into the bottle. At 9 months, the storage stability is shorter than with many other OTTO primers. For other OTTO product groups, substrates or coatings, OTTO recommends preliminary tests. Do not apply the primer beyond the joint edges and bonding surfaces, otherwise soiling or visual changes are possible.

Application & tips
Free the bonding surfaces of release agents, grease, oil, dust, water and old adhesives or sealants; clean non-porous substrates with OTTO Cleaner T and a clean, lint-free cloth, clean porous substrates of loose particles mechanically, for example with a steel brush or grinding disc. On porous substrates such as concrete apply the primer with a brush, on non-porous ones such as metal or plastic with a lint-free cloth, not with a brush. Allow to flash off for at least 30 minutes; higher temperatures shorten and lower temperatures lengthen the flash-off time. Solvent-containing, flammable: only with good ventilation, away from ignition sources; wear safety goggles and solvent-resistant gloves, according to the safety data sheet made of butyl rubber with a thickness of more than 0.4 mm. Because of the many influences on site, a trial application is always necessary. The use-by date is on the container, storage stability is 9 months at 23 °C.
