OTTO Cleanprimer 1226 speciality bonding cleaner for metal, plastic and glass

OTTO Cleanprimer 1226 is a special cleanprimer based on a solvent-based cleaner with adhesion promoter for non-absorbent materials such as metals, plastics and glass. It cleans and improves adhesion in one operation, for example for the special silicone S 54 on mastic asphalt screed or S 81 on PVC. The 100 ml aluminium bottle is enough for individual joints and minor repairs.

Limits & notes

The Cleanprimer is intended for non-absorbent materials. For porous, mineral substrates there are separate OTTO mineral primers. For combinations other than with OTTO sealants and adhesives, OTTO recommends preliminary tests. Do not apply the primer beyond the joint edges and bonding surfaces, otherwise soiling or visual changes are possible.

Application & tips

Free the bonding surfaces of release agents, grease, oil, dust, water and old adhesives or sealants; clean non-porous substrates with OTTO Cleaner T and a clean, lint-free cloth, clean porous substrates of loose particles mechanically, for example with a steel brush or grinding disc. Apply the Cleanprimer with a clean rag and sufficient pressure so that it cleans well; on asphalt OTTO recommends an even application with a brush. A drying time is not required; further processing can also take place several hours later, provided no dust gets onto the surface. Solvent-containing, flammable: only with good ventilation, away from ignition sources; wear safety goggles and solvent-resistant gloves, according to the safety data sheet made of butyl rubber with a thickness of more than 0.4 mm. Because of the many influences on site, a trial application is always necessary. The use-by date is on the container, storage stability is 12 months at 23 °C.
