Description
The smooth PVC protective tape in white is a plasterer's tape made of soft PVC film with natural rubber adhesive for masking work indoors and outdoors. It is resistant to water, oils and thinners and, according to the supplier, UV-resistant for up to 4 weeks. The 33 m roll is 50 mm wide – for bricklayers, plasterers, painters and building tradespeople as well as for DIY enthusiasts.

Limits & notes
UV resistance is designed for up to 4 weeks. Peel the tape off by then at the latest – bonded longer in the sun, it is harder to remove and may no longer come away without residue. What is guaranteed is secure masking on smooth substrates; on rough, sanding or absorbent plaster adhesion is not guaranteed, so test beforehand on an inconspicuous area. For masking lasting several months, a masking tape with a longer UV rating is the right choice.
Application & tips
The substrate must be clean, dry and free of dust and grease. Unroll the tape without tension, lay it down and press it firmly along its whole length so that no plaster or paint creeps under at the edges. Use a cutter or scissors to cut to length; anyone who wants to work without tools will choose the ribbed version. After plastering or painting, peel the tape off promptly and flat at an acute angle – within the UV service life of 4 weeks.

How long may the tape stay outdoors?
According to the supplier it is UV-resistant for up to 4 weeks. It should be peeled off by then at the latest.
What is the difference between smooth and ribbed?
Both have the same resistance. The ribbed version tears easily by hand, the smooth one is cut to length with a cutter or scissors.
Is the white smooth tape also available narrower?
This version is only available in 50 mm width. In 30 mm the tape is available in white ribbed and in orange smooth.
Does the tape also hold on plaster?
What is guaranteed is secure masking on smooth substrates. On rough or sanding plaster, test on a small area beforehand.
Is the tape solvent-resistant?
It is resistant to water, oils and thinners and is therefore also suitable for varnishing work.
