Ottoseal S100 sanitary silicone 580 ml

Description

Ottoseal S100 is the premium sanitary silicone from Otto Chemie – for decades the benchmark for workability, durability and abrasion resistance. The 580 ml large cartridge is suitable for larger jointing jobs and considerably reduces the number of cartridge changes.

  • Acetate-curing 1K silicone sealant
  • Very good weather, ageing and UV resistance
  • Fungicidally and bacteriostatically treated
  • Unique application properties
  • Outstandingly smoothable surface
  • Very good adhesion on ceramic substrates

Standards and tests:

  • Suitable for applications in accordance with IVD leaflet no. 3
  • “Particularly recommendable low-emission building product” according to the building materials list (TOXPROOF) of TÜV Rheinland
  • Complies with DIN 18545, Part 2, stress group E

Areas of application of Sanitary Silicone:

Ottoseal S100 sanitary silicone for sealing in sanitary and kitchen areas as well as on concrete elements, windows and masonry. Fungus-inhibiting finish and therefore particularly suitable for connection joints on bathtub, shower, washbasin and worktop.

Note on the 580 ml large cartridge:

A cartridge gun for 580 ml containers is required for application – commercially available guns for 310 ml cartridges do not fit. The advantage lies in the yield: one 580 ml cartridge replaces around two standard cartridges and saves restarting in the middle of long joints.

Pre-treatment:

The bonding surfaces must be clean, free of grease, dry and sound. Release agents, preservatives, grease, oil, dust, water as well as old adhesives and sealants must be removed completely. Cleaning non-porous substrates: with OTTO Cleaner T (flash-off time approx. 1 minute) and a clean, lint-free cloth. Cleaning porous substrates: clean surfaces of loose particles mechanically, e.g. with a steel brush or a grinding disc.

Application:

Application temperature: +5ºC to +35ºC.
Application method: Apply with manual caulking gun, compressed-air gun or cordless gun for 580 ml containers.
Cleaning: With white spirit before curing, afterwards removable with silicone remover or mechanically.
Smoothing: With smoothing agent and scraper before skin formation.

Special notes:

During curing, small amounts of acetic acid are gradually released. Ensure good ventilation during application and curing. After curing the product is odourless and physiologically harmless. Because of acetate curing it is not suitable for natural stone, mirrors or for zinc, copper, brass, lead and galvanised steel – a neutral-curing silicone belongs there. Avoid contact with materials containing bitumen or releasing plasticisers such as butyl, EPDM, neoprene as well as insulating and black coatings. When renovating joints contaminated with mould, the existing sealant must be removed completely and the joint area treated with OTTO Anti-Mould Spray before re-jointing.
