Areas of application of Sanitary Silicone:

Ottoseal S100 sanitary silicone for sealing concrete elements, windows, masonry, in sanitary and kitchen areas, mould-inhibiting. Complies with DIN 18545, Part 2, group E. The contact surfaces must be dry and free of grease and dust. Smooth with smoothing agent before a skin forms. Avoid contact with the eyes. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water and seek medical advice if necessary. Use only in well-ventilated areas. Keep out of the reach of children.

Special notes:

Before using the adhesive / sealant, the user must ensure that the materials in the contact area (solid, liquid and gaseous) are compatible with the adhesive / sealant and do not damage or alter it (e.g. discolour). For materials that are subsequently processed in the area of the adhesive / sealant, the user must clarify beforehand that their ingredients or emissions cannot impair or alter the adhesive / sealant (e.g. discolouration). If necessary, the user must consult the respective manufacturer of the materials / substances. During curing, small amounts of acetic acid are gradually released. Ensure good ventilation during application and curing. After curing the product is completely odourless, physiologically harmless and inert. The vulcanisation time increases with increasing layer thickness of the silicone. One-component silicones are not suitable for bonding over large areas unless the special structural conditions for this are met. If the silicone sealant is to be used in layer thicknesses of more than 15 mm, please contact our technical service beforehand. Note on processing the colour "Alu": please note that when "modelling" the silicone, i.e. when silicone layers are pushed over one another (e.g. in the corner area), dark, clearly visible separation lines appear. These lines cannot be removed by subsequent smoothing. This effect occurs exclusively in the colour "Alu". The cause lies in the colour pigment that creates the metallic effect. This is a typical product characteristic of the colour "Alu" and does not constitute a product defect. To avoid this effect, make sure when smoothing that no silicone layers are pushed over one another. Avoid contact with materials containing bitumen or releasing plasticisers, e.g. butyl, EPDM, neoprene, insulating and black coatings. When renovating joints contaminated with mould, the existing elastic sealant must be removed completely. Before re-jointing, the affected joint areas must be treated with OTTO Anti-Mould Spray in order to remove any fungal spores present. Otherwise, despite the fungicidal finish of the sealant, mould growth on the joint can very quickly occur again. Please observe the technical data sheet of OTTO Anti-Mould Spray.

Pre-treatment:

The bonding surfaces must be clean, free of grease, dry and sound. The bonding surfaces must be cleaned and any contamination, such as release agents, preservatives, grease, oil, dust, water, old adhesives / sealants and other substances that impair adhesion, must be removed. Cleaning non-porous substrates: clean with OTTO Cleaner T (flash-off time approx. 1 minute) and a clean, lint-free cloth. Cleaning porous substrates: clean surfaces
mechanically, e.g. with a steel brush or a grinding disc, of loose particles.

Application:

Application temperature: +5ºC to +35ºC.
Application method: apply with a manual caulking gun, compressed-air gun or cordless gun.
Cleaning: with white spirit before curing, afterwards removable with silicone remover or mechanically.

Das Mercedes unter den Silikonen

Ottoseal ist meine Meinung nach das Mercedes unter der Silikonen. Greife nur ungerne zu den anderen Herstellern.
