Description
OTTO Primer 1102 is a sandstone primer based on a solvent-based adhesion promoter combination. It improves the adhesion of the natural stone silicones OTTOSEAL S 70, S 80, S 117 and S 140 on sandstone. The 1000 ml aluminium bottle is the pack for processors with a larger volume of joints.

Limits & notes
The primer is intended for sandstone in combination with the natural stone silicones named. For marble and other natural stones, and for metal, there is a separate natural stone and metal primer. For other OTTO product groups, substrates or coatings, OTTO recommends preliminary tests. Do not apply the primer beyond the joint edges and bonding surfaces, otherwise soiling or visual changes are possible.

Application & tips
Free the bonding surfaces of release agents, grease, oil, dust, water and old adhesives or sealants; clean non-porous substrates with OTTO Cleaner T and a clean, lint-free cloth, clean porous substrates of loose particles mechanically, for example with a steel brush or grinding disc. Apply the primer to the joint flanks extremely carefully with a suitable brush and do not wet the natural stone surface next to them, otherwise stains may occur. Allow to flash off for at least 15 minutes; higher temperatures shorten and lower temperatures lengthen the flash-off time. Solvent-containing, flammable: only with good ventilation, away from ignition sources; wear safety goggles and solvent-resistant gloves, according to the safety data sheet made of butyl rubber with a thickness of more than 0.4 mm. Because of the many influences on site, a trial application is always necessary. The use-by date is on the container, storage stability is 12 months at 23 °C.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the primer have to flash off?
At least 15 minutes at 23 °C and 50 % relative humidity. The sealant should follow after 3 hours at the latest.
How much primer do I need?
OTTO states approx. 200 to 400 g/m², depending on how strongly the sandstone absorbs.
Can I also use the primer for marble?
According to the data sheet it is intended for sandstone. For marble and other natural stones, OTTO specifies its own natural stone and metal primer.
