Limits & notes
Acrylic is plastoelastic, not permanently elastic: permissible total deformation 10 % to ISO 9046 or 7.5 % to EN 15651 Part 1 – this is not enough for heavily moving expansion joints. Part 1 is tested, not Part 2 (glass) and not Part 3 (sanitary): in showers, baths and at glass connections a sanitary silicone belongs in the joint. On curing the material shrinks by around 20 % by volume, so backfill deep joints or apply them in two layers. Do not apply below +5 °C and do not allow contact with butyl, EPDM or neoprene.
Application & tips
Prepare bonding surfaces clean, free of dust and grease and sound, clean if necessary with OTTO Cleaner T and a lint-free cloth. Cut the nozzle to the joint width and fill the joint without bubbles with a manual caulking gun. Smooth with joint smoother and water or directly with the emulsion paint. Application temperature +5 °C to +35 °C, skin-forming time around 10 minutes at 23 °C and 50 % RH – do not rework afterwards. Wash off fresh residues with water, remove cured material only mechanically. The product contains preservatives (EUH208 Contains preservatives. May produce an allergic reaction.); no signal word has been assigned under CLP. Unopened shelf life 12 months at +15 °C to +25 °C.
