Special notes:
Before using the product, the user must ensure that the materials in the contact area with it and with each other are compatible and do not damage or alter each other (e.g. discolour). For materials that are subsequently processed in the area of the product, the user must clarify beforehand that their ingredients or emissions cannot impair or alter the product (e.g. discolouration). If necessary, the user must consult the respective manufacturer of the materials. Not suitable for joints with strong movement (> 10% permissible total deformation) Not suitable for building expansion joints. Max. joint cross-section: 10 mm
Not suitable for plinth and floor joints. Not suitable for joints in swimming pools. Not suitable for sealing metal end profiles in flat roof construction; for this we recommend OTTOSEAL S 110
Not suitable for polystyrene foam (Styropor). Because of its exceptional adhesion, the sealant tends to string. This stringing can be avoided by pulling the cartridge away with a jerk.
Pre-treatment:
The bonding surfaces must be clean, free of dust and grease and sound. The bonding surfaces must be cleaned and any contamination, such as release agents, preservatives, grease, oil, dust, water, old adhesives/sealants and other substances that impair adhesion, must be removed. Cleaning non-porous substrates: clean with OTTO Cleaner T (flash-off time approx. 1 minute) and a clean, lint-free cloth. Cleaning porous substrates: clean surfaces of loose particles mechanically, e.g. with a steel brush or a grinding disc.
Application notes:
Use plenty of water for subsequent smoothing. With the correct nozzle cut and even gun guidance, avoid excess material on application, because excess Ottoseal A 250 can only be removed again with difficulty owing to its exceptional adhesion.
Ottoseal A 250 contains solvent and forms a skin immediately (approx. 1 minute) after application. In order not to stimulate solvent evaporation too much, it is advisable wherever possible not to apply the sealant in strong sunlight. This could lead to cracking within the joint material. This can, however, easily be remedied by reworking with Ottoseal A 250. The surface is still slightly tacky even after curing.
Storage:
We recommend storing our products in the unopened original containers dry (< 60 % RH) in a temperature range of + 15° C to + 25° C.
