Description

Ottocoll P520 is a 2K adhesive based on polyurethane for corner joints on metal windows, doors, facades and conservatories. It meets D4 to DIN EN 204 and WATT 91 to DIN EN 14257. The 2 × 310 ml (1 : 1) double cartridge with static mixer is aimed at metal and window builders.

Benefits at a glance

  • High final strength: tensile strength approx. 14,000 N after 7 days, proven by an ift test certificate.
  • Plannable sequence: approx. 45 minutes processing time, functionally strong after approx. 6 hours.
  • Shrinkage-free: cures through reliably without loss of volume.
  • Heat-resistant: resistant from −30 to +80 °C, briefly up to +100 °C.
  • Low-emission: French VOC emission class A+, fire behaviour class E to EN 13501.

Areas of application

  • Corner joints in aluminium and metal window profiles
  • Metal doors, mullion-transom facades and conservatories
  • General structural bonding in metal construction
  • Force-locking bonding of wood, wood-based materials, metal and suitable plastics

Limits & notes

Not suitable for glass, PE, PP, PA, PTFE as well as bituminous, wax- or oil-containing substrates. For exterior bonding with direct moisture or UV exposure, an STP or hybrid adhesive is the right choice (exception: D4 wood bonding with protective coating). UV light can discolour the adhesive; check paints and plastics beforehand for compatibility.

Application & tips

Prepare bonding surfaces clean, free of grease, dry and sound: clean non-porous surfaces with OTTO Cleaner T, free porous ones mechanically of loose parts. Insert the cartridge into a 2K gun for side-by-side cartridges, squeeze out until both components emerge, fit the static mixer and join the parts within the processing time. Application at +5 to +35 °C, with compressed-air guns maximum 5 bar; trial bonding recommended. Resin and hardener have a sensitising effect: disposable nitrile gloves, safety goggles, avoid skin contact; mix only as much as can be processed within the pot life. Contains isocyanates: ensure good ventilation; cured adhesive can only be removed mechanically. Since 24.08.2023, professional users need training in accordance with REACH Annex XVII No. 74. Clean tools before curing with OTTO Cleaner MP. Store dry at +15 to +25 °C, shelf life unopened 12 months.
